Local Farmers

Sandven Farms

We have been doing business with Agriprocessors for several years. We have always been happy with their process. Agriprocessors’ word has always been true when a deal was to be done a certain way it was. We as producers are adding value to livestock, grain, and grain co-products. We are providing jobs and a better living from grain farmers, truckers, bankers, grocers, and consumers. Agriprocessors is adding value to the cattle while employing many people who in turn add value to other local businesses. We sell to many harvesting plants, but the type of cattle we produce work best for Agriprocessor[s]. We appreciate having them as close competitive local market. The United States of America is an adverse nation; Agriprocessors has a market system for a portion of our nation’s people.

Sholom Rubashkin is our head buyer, we barter our business deals. When we agree, our verbal commitment has always been good.

Thank you,

Douglas Sandven

Maple Park Farms

I have sold cattle to Agriprocessors for a number of years. Agriprocessors has always purchased “top end” cattle at fair prices. Providing farmers a fair price for an above average product shouldn’t be an anomaly. Unfortunately, vertical integration and consolidation now dominate the cattle industry. Those types of business practices hurt producers and consumers. Thankfully, Agriprocessors provides an avenue to market cattle for farmers committed to excellence in animal husbandry and stewardship across our state and region.

In addition, Agriprocessors is one of the few cattle harvest facilities left in our state. The value of a local market is invaluable when considering freight and shipping costs. Without Agriprocessors, I would be forced to market finished cattle hundreds of miles further away, which would significantly limit my potential for profitability.

... [I] lLook forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Agriprocessors for many years into the future...

Sincerely,

Gregg E. Reisinger

Agriprocessors in Postville, Iowa has been help in the beef cattle fat market. They have helped our market with increased competition. I sell the majority of my fat cattle to Agriprocessors. Everyone is extremely accommodating from the country buyer to the office personnel. It is nice to have a market and people to do business with like Agriprocessors.

To Whom It May Concern:

Agriprocessors has been great for the State of Iowa, providing good jobs and economic development for the State. Because they are one of the few packing plants in Iowa they provide competition in the market place, helping our bottom line on our family farm. They have treated us very professionally and very honest about the cattle market. Our cattle business has expanded because of them. Agriprocessors is a good business with great employees.

Sincerely,

The Kibbin Family

Heater & Sons Partnership

June 15, 2006

To the Residents of Postville:

I have done business with the Rubashkin family for several years. They have contracted thousands of cattle from me with nothing but a handshake. Their word is as good as gold and they have always done exactly what they said they’d do. I feel there is no one more honest than this family and I enjoy doing business with them. They buy the very best cattle and their product, Aaron’s Best is excellent.

I think it is an asset to Postville and the State of Iowa to have them operating here. They are competition to other packinghouses which helps a lot of Iowa’s producers and they bring money and jobs into the State of Iowa…

Sincerely,

Bill Heater
