EVERY Agriprocessors employee is offered either family or individual health insurance. As has become common in many industries, Agriprocessors pays for more than 70% of the cost of each employee’s health insurance premium with the employee paying the remainder.

Health insurance for a family of four costs the employee $49.82 per week. The cost for individual coverage is $19.82 per person. Agriprocessors employees pay a $500 deductible, after which 80% of the cost of approved care is covered by insurance.

The choice to purchase health benefits is left to the employee. Many employees choose not purchase health benefits and instead take advantage of local services like the WIC clinic in Postville or the free medical clinic the First Lutheran Church of Decorah hosts each Monday.
